Ilaiyaraaja, Vijayendra Prasad nominated to Rajya Sabha

Padma Bhushan Ilaiyaraaja joins the list of illustrious celebrities who have been nominated to the Rajya Sabha.

Announcing this update, PM Narendra Modi said, "The creative genius of Ilaiyaraaja ji has enthralled people across generations. His works beautifully reflect many emotions. What is equally inspiring is his life journey- he rose from a humble background and achieved so much. Glad that he has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha."

The Prime Minister also shared the news of renowned scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad, known for his work in the Baahubali franchise and RRR, being bestowed with the same honour. The PM tweeted, "V Vijayendra Prasad garu is associated with the creative world for decades. His works showcase India's glorious culture and have made a mark globally. Congratulations to him for being nominated to the Rajya Sabha."

Congratulatory messages are pouring in for both these stalwarts, who have immensely contributed in putting Indian cinema on the global map.
