In an interaction ahead of the release of his upcoming film, Veerame Vaagai Soodum, Vishal confirmed that a project with director Muthaiah was indeed on the cards. 

Speculations about this reunion between Vishal and Muthaiah have been doing the rounds since 2020, and it is just now that Vishal revealed that he will soon be working on a film with his Marudhu director. 

After a series of urban films, this project will see him return to a rural film for the first time since Sandakozhi 2 (2018).

Meanwhile, Muthaiah is currently awaiting the release of Viruman, which stars Karthi and Aditi Shankar in the lead roles. 

On the other hand, Vishal has an interesting lineup of films in various stages of production, including Lathi, Thupparivalan 2, and Mark Antony.
