With the fifth season of Kamal Haasan-hosted Bigg Boss Tamil coming to a close this Sunday, fans of the reality show were in for a surprise soon after. Disney+ Hotstar is set to launch Bigg Boss Ultimate, an OTT-exclusive spin-off of sorts of Bigg Boss Tamil. The show is set to begin streaming from January 30.

Kamal Haasan will return as the host of Bigg Boss Ultimate too, and the show is set to feature contestants from earlier seasons of the show. This is billed as a chance at redemption for these celebrated contestants.

The biggest highlight of this show is the 24-hour feed that will be available on the streamer for the consumption of fans who can just peek into the lives of these contestants anytime they wish. 

Talking about this development, Kamal Haasan said, "I'm extremely excited to continue staying in touch with you by hosting the OTT version as well. The new format is now available 24/7 to engage and entertain you more. I am 100 per cent confident that you will find this whole new experience refreshing and interesting."

While the official list of contestants hasn't been released yet, fans have already started speculating about the prospective reentry of some of their favourite housemates over the past four seasons.
