The news of maestro Ilaiyaraaja composing music for #Metoo accused Susi Ganesan has been met with criticism on social media by fans of the composer. Many expressed disappointment about the legendary composer collaborating with a sexual harassment accused.

Susi Ganesan announced on Friday that he had roped in Ilayaraja to compose music for his next project titled Venjam Theerthaayadaa. Singer Chinmayi, who had also named lyricist Vairamuthu during the #Metoo movement reacted to this news and said that she was disappointed in the maestro.

Reaction to Susi Ganesan's announcement about Ilaiyaraaja

She also stated, “Vanjam Theerthayada. Wow. That’s more or less what this director has been doing to Leena. Doesn’t Raja sir or his team know they are propping and working with a molester who is harassing the women who spoke up?" She did, however, mention that she would like to give the team the benefit of doubt on her Instagram stories.

Susi Ganesan was accused by Leena of sexual harassment in 2018. She had levelled allegations against her on a Facebook post and the director has since struggled against trolling, hate and even a defamation case filed against her by Susi Ganesan. He also refuted the allegations levied against him.

Leena’s passport was also impounded and it was only recently that she was able to get her passport back after approaching the Madras High Court. In addition to this, Susi Ganesan was also accused of threatening actor Siddharth and Amala Paul for supporting and backing Leena’s claim respectively.
