Actor Simbu is the new host of Bigg Boss Ultimate after the exit of Kamal Haasan. A new promo video confirming the latest development has gone viral on social media. The development has come as a surprise to the actor's fans, and Simbu himself says in the video: Naanae edhirpaakala (Even I didn't see this coming).

Earlier, the 24x7 reality show, a spin-off of Bigg Boss Tamil, was hosted by Kamal Haasan, who was also handling the past five seasons of the reality show. He recently opted out of Bigg Boss Ultimate due to date issues as he is busy wrapping up his upcoming film Vikram.

It was earlier speculated that Ramya Krishnan, who has filled in for both Kamal Haasan and Nagarjuna during their absence, will be roped in for the  Bigg Boss Ultimate. Looks like the show is living up to its tagline "Edhir paaraadhathai edhirpaarungal (Expect the unexpected).

Meanwhile, Simbu is basking in the success of Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film turned out to be a much-needed break for the actor, who seems to have turned a new page in his career. He also has Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Pathu Thala, and a couple of projects in his kitty.
