Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has revealed that filmmaker Deeraj Vaidy, who made Siddharth's Jil Jung Juk (2016), will be co-writing the dialogues of Thalapathy 67, along him and Aadai-fame Rathna Kumar. Lokesh revealed this information in Galatta Plus' Tamil Cinema Round Table.

It may be noted that Deeraj hinted at his collaboration with Lokesh, through a selfie he shared in August, on Instagram. The photo comprised Deeraj, Lokesh and Rathna.

Deeraj is also a part of the writers' team of the upcoming web series The Village, starring Arya and directed by Milind Rau.

In the same interaction of Galatta Plus, director Gautham Menon revealed that he is acting in Thalapathy 67. While Gautham’s role is kept under wraps, the official announcement of Thalapathy 67 will take place after the release of Varisu. This will be Lokesh’s second film with Vijay after Master. There are also speculations that Trisha will also be part of Thalapathy 67.

Meanwhile, Vijay is gearing up for the release of Varisu, which is scheduled to hit the theatres for Pongal 2023. The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and has Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
