Vasanthabalan's Aneethi is gearing up to hit screens in February. Filmmaker Shankar's banner S Pictures will be distributing the film. It marks his return to distribution eight years after the Vaibhav-starrer Kappal.

It is worth a mention that Vasanthabalan was an erstwhile assistant of Shankar. His 2005-released film Veyil was also produced by Shankar. Currently, Vasanthabalan along with Shankar's two other former assistants, Arivazhagan and Chimbudevan, are helping him to direct Indian 2.

Billed as an action-thriller, Aneethi stars Arjun Das and Dushara Vijayan as the leads. The cast also includes Vanitha Vijaykumar, Bharani, Suresh Chakravarthi, Aranthangi Nisha, Pugazh, Kaali Venkat, Sarah, Arjun Chidambaram, Subramaniam Siva, J Sathish Kumar, and T Siva.

Aneethi, which has music by GV Prakash Kumar, is co-produced by Vasanthabalan along with his friends under the banner Urban Boyz Studios.
