We had earlier reported that the sequel to Karthik Subbaraj’s critically acclaimed gangster drama Jigarthanda is all set to go on floors from Sunday with a pooja ceremony in Madurai.

On the day of the pooja, the makers released a poster, which revealed the title of the film as Jigarthanda Double X.  They also shared an interesting caption that read, "A kind of... teaser today at 6 PM."

It was earlier announced that actors Raghava Lawrence, SJ Suryah, and Nimisha Sajayan are leading the cast of the film. Jigarthanda Double X marks the reunion of Suryah with Karthik Subburaj after Iraivi (2016). Nimisha Sajayan, known for her roles in Malayalam films like The Great Indian Kitchen and Nayattu, will be making her Tamil debut with Jigarthanda Double X.

While it is reported that the sequel will not be a direct continuation of the original, which starred Bobby Simha, Siddharth, and Lakshmi Menon, Jigarthanda Double X will be set in Madurai.
