We had previously reported that actor Shaam is a part of Vijay's upcoming release, Varisu. Speaking about the film, in a recent media interaction, the 12B actor said that after signing the dotted lines for Varisu, he was also approached for a role in Ajith's Thunivu.

Speaking about the films, he said, "After I signed Varisu, I got a call from director H Vinoth. It was to don the villain role in Thunivu. Unfortunately, both the films needed me on the same dates and hence, I couldn't do it."

The film, directed by Vamsi Paidipally, stars Rashmika Mandana as the lead and the rest of the cast includes Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Khushbu, Jayasudha, Yogi Babu, Srikanth, Shaam and Sangeetha.

On the other hand, Thunivu, directed by H Vinoth, also stars Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani and John Kokken.
