Actor Vimal's next will be directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Bose Venkat and it has been titled Ma Po Si. The film bankrolled by S Siraj, under his banner SSS Pictures. 

The film was launched in Arandhangi in the presence of ministers Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Meyyanadhan, MP Abdhulla and MLA Ramachandran. Ma Po Si's title poster features a blackboard, hinting an educational institution-based entertainer. 

Bose Venkat, who made his directorial debut with Kanni Madam, will be shooting for the film entirely in Arandhangi. He has planned to wrap the film in 30-40 days. 

Ma Po Si stars Chaya Kannan as the female lead and Saravanan in an important role. The film has music by Siddhu Kumar.

Vimal, who was last seen in the hit web series Vilangu, has shaved his beard for the role and will be seeing in a new look. Apart from this film, he has films like Deiva Machan, Kulasami, Manjal Kudai and Enga Pattan Soththu in various stages of production.
