It is raining updates from team Maaveeran. Earlier today, we had reported that Aditi Shankar, veteran director Shankar's daughter, was roped in to star alongside Sivakarthikeyan in the Madonne Ashwin directorial.

The latest update from the team is that veteran actor Saritha is set to play a pivotal role in the film. The makers, Shanti Talkies, released an announcement video similar to the one they used for Aditi. Maaveeran will mark the return of Saritha to Tamil cinema after Ceylon (2013) and June R (2006).

Maaveeran, which has been titled Mahaveerudu in Telugu, will release in Tamil and Telugu, and marks the second film of National Award-winning filmmaker Madonne Ashwin after Mandela

The Mandela crew of Vidhu Ayyanna, Philomin Raj and Bharath Shankar have been roped in as Maaveeran's cinematographer, editor, and music director, respectively.
