Vikram Prabhu's Taanakkaran got released on Disney+Hotstar on April 8 and opened to largely positive response. The film directed by Tamizh speaks of the inhuman practices recruits undergo during police training.

The film is a much-needed comeback for Vikram Prabhu, who has been going through a lean patch of late. Superstar Rajinikanth has praised the young actor for his performance in the film. An excited Vikram Prabhu took to his Twitter handle to share the same.

Taanakkaran has Vikram Prabhu playing Arivu, a passionate young cop recruit who questions the system. The film also has Lal, Nedunalvaadai-fame Anjali Nair, Bose Venkat and MS Bhaskar playing important roles. The film has music by Ghibran, cinematography by Madhesh Manickam and editing by Philomin Raj.

Meanwhile, Vikram Prabhu also has Paayum Oli Nee Yenakku and Mani Ratnam's multi-starrer Ponniyin Selvan in the pipeline.
