We had earlier reported about director VZ Dhorai and Sundar C planning to team up for Thalainagaram 2. The film got launched today officially with a customary pooja.

Thalainagaram 2 will be a spiritual sequel to the 2006 hit film, Thalainagaram. Directed by Suraaj, the original also featured Jyothirmayi and Vadivelu in prominent roles. It was the remake of the hit Malayalam film, Abhimanyu.

VZ Dhorai, known for his films like Mugavaree and Thotti Jaya, has worked with Sundar C previously in Iruttu, a supernatural horror thriller.

Thalainagaram 2 will be produced by SM Prabhakaran under the banner of Right Eye Theater. The film will have cinematography by E Krishnasamy.
