CE Features

Superstar Rajinikanth is the latest to heap praise on Thalaivii, the biopic on J Jayalalithaa. The superstar got to watch the film recently in a special, personal screening and was highly impressed by it. He lauded the team headed by director AL Vijay for the articulate handling of the subject and its execution.

A source stated, "Rajini sir loved the film and called Vijay sir personally congratulating him to pull off such a difficult film. He said it's a very tough film to make given the representation of such eminent personalities like MGR and Jayalalithaa, who have been public figures in both their, cinematic as well as political, journeys and yet, it was beautifully handled."

Thalaivii revolves around the rise of Jayalalithaa from a young actress to becoming a Tamil Cinema star to a strong-willed political leader. While Kangana Ranaut played Jayalalithaa's part, Arvind Swami essayed the role based on MGR.

Produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the film got released simultaneously in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. It has music by GV Prakash and cinematography by Vishal Vittal.
