The makers of Suriya's latest Amazon Prime Video release, Jai Bhim, have digitally changed the shot of a calendar with a communal symbol in order to not hurt communal sentiments.

Directed by Tha Se Gnanavel, Jai Bhim is a courtroom drama that speaks about the injustice levied by the system against the tribal communities. A particular shot set in the house of the film's antagonist features a calendar with a communal symbol, and this turned out to be a topic of controversy on social media.

Now, to prevent this from being taken out of context, the makers have digitally altered the calendar, replacing it with a calendar featuring Goddess Lakhmi.

This isn't the first time that the film has run into a controversy. Earlier, a scene involving Prakash Raj was criticised stating that it propagates anti-Hindi ideas.

Jai Bhim is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film has Rajisha Vijayan, Manikandan, and Lijomol Jose in prominent roles. The film also features actors Rao Ramesh, Guru Somasundaram, Ilavarasu, Jayaprakash, MS Bhaskar, Rajendran, Subathra, and others.

The film has music by Sean Roldan, cinematography by SR Kadhir, and editing by Philomin Raj.
