Director-actor Gautham Vasudev Menon has refuted rumours stating that he is acting in a film called Anbuselvan. The filmmaker made the statement post the release of the first-look poster of the film earlier today.

To much surprise of netizens, the poster featured Gautham in a cop role with the tagline 'The Cop Devil'. There were also rumours that the film will be a spinoff of the director's popular character, Anbuselvan, from his Suriya-Jyotika starrer Kaakha Kaakha. Further, the poster was released by the likes of filmmaker Pa Ranjith.

On Twitter, Gautham retweeted Ranjith's tweet, which is now deleted, to express his shock. "This is shocking & news to me. I have no idea what this film is that I’m supposed to be acting in. I don’t know or haven’t met the director whose name is on this poster. The producer has got big names to tweet this. It’s shocking & scary that something like this can be done so easily," wrote Gautham.

Further details are currently awaited.
