The much-awaited trailer of Suriya's Kaappaan, directed by KV Anand, was launched this evening. The 95-second featurette bears a strong resemblance to the duo's previous film, Maattrraan. The romantic Kurilae Kurilae's visuals feels like an extended version of Nani Koni, while Hey Amigo brings back vivid memories of Kaal Mulaitha Poovae.

Suriya, it turns out, is not the only one sporting multiple get-ups in this spy thriller. Arya, who supposedly plays the son of the Prime Minister, is also seen dressed as a Sikh. Interestingly, the only person who does not have any dialogues in Kaappaan's trailer is the male lead, Suriya. Does that mean he's a man whose 'actions' speak louder than his words? Well, going by the number of stunts teased in the trailer, action is one thing we can be sure of getting in Kaappaan

The Kaappaan trailer also has an indirect tribute to the iconic Nayakan dialogue: "Naalu paer nalla irukanum na edhuvum thappu illa." Mohanlal, in voiceover, says, "Oru uyir ah bali kuduthu 100 uyir ah kaapatha mudiyum na.. adhu thappu illa.. adhu pavam illa," in his famous Tamil accent. And thus ends the trailer.

Kaappaan, which has music by Harris Jayaraj, hits the screens on September 20.
