Skater Girl, a film by late actor Mac Mohan’s daughters, Manjari and Vinati Makijany, will be released on Netflix on June 11. Manjari and Vinati have written it together, while Manjari has directed it.

Set in Rajasthan, Skater Girl follows a teenager’s dream of competing in the National Skateboarding Championships. The lead character, Prerna, is played by Rachel Saanchita Gupta.

Manjari has previously directed the short films The Last Marble (2012) and The Corner Table (2014). She has also assisted on Hollywood productions like Dunkirk, The Dark Knight Rises, Wonder Woman and others, and on the Bollywood films Wake Up Sid and Saat Khoon Maaf.

Talking about the film, Manjari says, "Skater Girl is about Prerna who fights through all obstacles, both societal and her inner fears, to embrace her true talent and chase her dreams. But it's also a story about women across different stratas of society and how they connect with each other and relate to each other's struggle. So you see across generations that these women have a story to tell."
