The much-awaited director's cut of Justice League titled Zack Snyder's Justice League recently premiered on HBO Max and BookMyShow Stream to rave reviews. Post the release, DC fans took to Twitter and started a hashtag campaign #RestoreTheSnyderVerse to get Warner Bros to let Zack Snyder continue in the DCEU. On Thursday, the hashtag touched the milestone mark of one million tweets worldwide.

Notably, the Snyder Cut itself is the result of a hashtag fan campaign that started post the result of 2017's Justice League. After helming Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder left Justice League during post-production due to a family tragedy in 2017. The studio roped in Joss Whedon to do the post-production and oversee the reshoots. But the film failed to impress the fans, who believed Whedon had changed the entire plotline and outlook of the film. The result of this was the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign that eventually resulted in the studios letting Snyder complete his work.

Zack Snyder's Justice League hinted at Snyder's vision of DCEU's future, and the cliffhanger ending led to the current #RestoreTheSnyderVerse campaign. In a recent interview, Warner Bros CEO, Ann Sarnoff, stated that the Snyder Cut is the concluding chapter of Snyder's trilogy, which further led to more netizens tweeting with the hashtag.

Sarnoff further stated that there won't be a director's cut of David Ayer's Suicide Squad, which once again propelled a campaign with fans tweeting with the hashtag #ReleaseTheAyerCut.
