Vaishnav Tej, who recently made his acting debut with Uppena, has issued a statement requesting his fans to stay wary of fake profiles created in his name on Twitter.

The statement reads, "This is to inform that I am NOT on Twitter. I request everyone not to pay heed to fake Twitter handles. I also request you to report the said account. Thanking in anticipation. I urge everyone to stay cautious."

Vaishnav's debut Uppena, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, released to packed houses and emerged as one of the most successful Telugu films post-lockdown. The 31-year-old actor will be next seen in a Krish Jagarlamudi directorial in which is sharing screen space with Rakul Preet Singh.
