We had earlier reported that Suriya-Pandiraj's upcoming film went on floors last month. It has now come to light that Suriya has joined the sets of the film tentatively referred to as Suriya 40.

Sharing a photo from the sets, Suriya said, "Feels good to be back on sets."

Incidentally, a week before the film went on floors, Suriya was affected by COVID-19 and had to undergo treatment for the same.

While Suriya 40 was expected to be a family entertainer, the photo that was shared features a gun-toting Suriya, leading to speculations that Pandiraj might be returning to his Kathakali days with this film.

Backed by Sun Pictures, Suriya 40 stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash and Ilavarasu.

While Rathnavelu has been roped in as the cinematographer, this project marks composer Imman's first collaboration with Suriya.

Meanwhile, Suriya also has a film with director Vetri Maaran, titled Vaadivasal. This project is expected to go on floors once Suriya 40 is wrapped up.
