AR Rahman might soon return to Telugu cinema after a long break. Rumours are rife that the composer might be part of Shakar's upcoming film starring Ram Charan.

Although Rahman has worked on Tamil-Telugu bilinguals like Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya/Ye Maaya Chesave, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada/Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo over the years, it has been over a decade since he composed for a direct Telugu movie. His last work in the language was for SJ Suryah's Puli, starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead.

However, in a recent Twitter interaction when a fan asked him about an update on any Telugu albums, Rahman said, "Very soon." This sent his fans into raptures and social media is filled with speculations about whether this project will be a direct Telugu film or a dubbed film with his soundtrack.

With director Shankar, Rahman's long-time collaborator, set to direct Ram Charan's upcoming film, fans are wondering if RC 15 will be the project that brings the Oscar winner back to Telugu cinema.

Meanwhile, Rahman has an impressive line-up of films, including Vikram's Cobra, Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan, Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, Dhanush-Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re, as well as Pathu Thala, and Nadhigale Neeradum Suriyan, both starring Simbu.
