Several articles online reported that actor Anita Hassanandani, known for playing the female lead in Tamil films like Samurai and Sukran, is ending her acting career. The articles stated that the actor is taking the step as she recently became a mother. Anita took to Twitter where she refuted those to be rumours and she will soon resume working.

The tweet read, "It’s all over that I’m quitting my first love, acting. I never said that. All I said was that my focus right now is my child. Aaravv is my priority. I will resume work when I’m ready."

Anita, who made her Tamil debut with Varushamellam Vasantham in 2002 was last seen by the Tamil audience in the 2011 film Maharaja. The actor has also acted in several Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada films over the years and has also found success in soap operas.
