Actor Michael Pena will join Owen Wilson in Paramount’s upcoming original superhero film Secret Headquarters.

The film, which is to be helmed by Project Power directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, also stars Walker Scobell, Momona Tamada, Keith L Williams, Abby James Witherspoon and Kezii Curtis.

The family action movie follows a kid who discovers that the secret headquarters of the world’s most powerful superhero is hidden beneath his home. When supervillains begin to attack, he must defend the headquarters with his group of friends.

There are no details available now about the character Pena will play in the movie. Joost, Schulman and Koenigsberg are writing the final draft of the screenplay, based on an original screenplay by Christopher Yost (Thor: Ragnarok, The Mandalorian).

Jerry Bruckheimer will produce the film, along with Chad Oman for Bruckheimer Films. Orlee-Rose Strauss is serving as executive producer.

Secret Headquarters is scheduled to release on August 12, 2022.

Pena was recently seen in Warner Bros’ Tom & Jerry and will be seen next in Roland Emmerich's Moonfall. However, it is yet to be confirmed if the actor will return for Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is currently in production.
