Speculations are rife that Rocky, starring Taramani-fame Vasanth Ravi and Bharathiraja in the lead roles, will be opting for a digital release. The Arun Matheswaran directorial was acquired by Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara-owned Rowdy Pictures in December last year. The production house teased the same on Tuesday with a short tweet. "Running out of intense films to watch? We are coming soon with the best that we have to offer!" read the tweet, hinting at a digital release. An official announcement related to the streaming debut of Rocky is expected to drop shortly.

According to sources, the film is set to premiere on SonyLIV, as the streaming platform is eyeing to plunge into Tamil space. SonyLIV is currently partnering with AVM Productions to produce the web series Tamil Stalkers, directed by Arivazhagan.

Billed as an intense thriller, Rocky also features Raveena Ravi and Rohini in prominent roles, and has music by Darbuka Siva.

Meanwhile, Rowdy Pictures' Koozhangal (Pebbles) was screened at the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam held in the Netherlands this February, where it received the Tiger Award. The production house's upcoming films include Nayanthara-led Netrikann, directed by Aval-fame Milind Rau, and Vignesh Shivan directorial Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha.
