Aishwarya Rajesh's upcoming eco-thriller Boomika, directed by Rathindran Prasad, will skip a theatrical release, and premiere directly on Vijay TV, on August 22 at 3 pm. However, there is no official word about its OTT release.

Boomika, produced by Passion Studios and presented by Karthik Subbaraj, is said to be a story that involves seven main characters and it happens over a night. Also starring Pavel Navageethan, Boomika has cinematography by Roberto Zazzara and music by Prithvi Chandrasekar.

Aishwarya's last release, Thittam Irandu had its premiere on Sony Liv the past week. She also has films like Vishnu Vishal's Mohandas, Nani's Tuck Jagadish, the Tamil remake of The Great Indian Kitchen and the long-awaited Dhruva Natchathiram in the pipeline.

Meanwhile, Boomika's director Rathindran Prasad, who is awaiting the release of his debut film, Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai, is also directing a short in Netflix's upcoming anthology, Navarasa. The anthology will begin streaming on the platform from August 6.
