The team of Thimmarusu, including lead actors Satyadev Kancharana and Priyanka Jawalkar, were present at the pre-release event of the film on Tuesday evening in Hyderabad. Directed by Sharan Koppisetty, the film is the remake of the Kannada thriller series, Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni.

Slated to release on July 30, the film will undergo a box-office clash with Teja Sajja-starrer Ishq. Actor Nani attended the event as the chief guest and released the audio. He stated that watching movies in theatres is the culture of Telugu audiences and is hopeful of bouncing back to business soon.

"Movie theatres have always been the first to be shut down and the last to open up during the pandemic. Theatres are the safest places to watch a film. We follow all the safety guidelines, wear masks and we hardly talk to each other while watching films. The theatre is a big industry in our Telugu States. Many livelihoods rely upon them either directly or indirectly. Many families are facing hardships as they have lost their livelihood in the last two years. I am sure the conditions will get better soon and I am hoping that Thimmarusu will give the impetus to all other releases as well," said Nani.

The guests for the evening included directors Venkatesh Maha, Rahul Sankrityan, actors Brahmaji, Jhansi and producers Mahesh S Koneru and Srujan Yarabolu among others.
