It was reported earlier this week that actor Judy Greer will star in an indie film called Mabel. The latest is that actor Christine Ko (Dave) will star alongside Greer in the film.

Mabel is directed by Nicholas Ma, who also wrote the script along with Joy Goodwin. The film centres around Callie, whose only friends are the plants and trees that surround her home. Her dad's job forces the family to move to a sterile subdivision, where she finds herself utterly isolated. There, her only best friend is a potted plant named Mabel. To Callie, Mabel is a peer, a fellow being, may be overlooked or unseen, but still very much alive.

Greer is set to play a character called Mrs. G, as reported earlier, and Ko will portray Callie's youthful mother, Angela. Angela is a cool mom, with a downtown vibe, who is proud of her unique and inquisitive kid. If something's important to Callie, it's important to Angela as well. She strives to help her daughter become a well-rounded person, but she has to face the fact that she can only help so much.

Mabel is produced by Helen Estabrook, Luca Borghesde and Ben Howe.

Ko can be seen currently on the hit series, Dave. Her other TV credits include Master of None, Upload, Hawaii Five-0, Relationship Status, The Great Indoors, and BFFs
