Leslie Grace to star as Batgirl in DC's HBO Max film

The upcoming film is set to be directed by Bad Boys For Life duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with a script from Christina Hodson

It was reported last week that Warner Bros and DC films were testing actors for the lead role in the upcoming Batgirl film. It looks like they have found their Batgirl in actor Leslie Grace.

According to Deadline, Grace will play Barbara Gordon in the film. While plot details are under wraps, Barbara, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon, will play the caped crusader in this version.

Batgirl was first introduced in the comics in 1961, with Betty Kane taking on the role. Later, in 1967, Barbara took over the mantle as Batgirl.

The upcoming film is set to be directed by Bad Boys For Life duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with a script from Christina Hodson. Kristin Burr is producing the film.

Grace found her break-out role as Nina Rosario in Jon M Chu’s feature adaptation of In the Heights, based on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical.
