Director Virumaandi, who made his debut last year with Ka Pae Ranasingam, is teaming up with Sasikumar for his next. The untitled film will go on floors in April this year.

"The film is a biopic of one of the many icons integral to shaping the Tamil film industry that we love and adore today. He is one of many people we've forgotten over time and his is a story that deserves to be told," says Virumaandi, who plans to reveal whose life the film is based on just before going to shoot.

"The film will have the pain and emotion that people witnessed in Ka Pae Ranasingam. It will also have elements of humour. It will be a period film set in the 70s and we will be shooting it in Madurai, Theni, and Tenkasi," he adds.

With NK Ekambaram handling the cinematography, Ghibran will be composing music for this film. Details about the rest of the cast are expected to be announced soon.
