Silambarasan TR's Eeswaran, directed by Susienthiran, is hitting theatres on January 14 for Pongal. It was announced earlier today that the film would get a Video On Demand release via an OTT platform called Olyflix, in regions outside India. But, strong opposition from the TN Theatre Association for releasing the film online on the same day has pushed Madhav Media, the producers of the film, to hold its VOD release. 

The production house tweeted, "Considering the request from TN theatre association and to ensure that the theatre experience is not compromised, we had to take the unfortunate call to hold the release of Eeswaran on Olyflix over PVOD. Hope TN Theatre Association supports us by increasing the number of screens."

Also starring, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nandita Swetha and Bala Saravanan, Eeswaran has music by Thaman and cinematography by Tirru.
