The long-awaited Tamil remake of Bollywood hit Andhadhun has been titled Andhagan. The film, which has Prashanth reprising the role of Ayushmann Khurrana, is being directed by JJ Fredrick, who made his debut with Jyotika's Ponmagal Vandhal this year.

It was announced last month that Simran and Karthik will be playing the role of Tabu and Anil Dhawan's role. A promo of Prashanth playing carol songs in piano was released on Christmas to tease the title of the project.

Initially, the remake was supposed to be directed by Mohan Raja, but he opted out of the project. Andhagan will be produced by Prashanth's father Thiyagarajan under his banner Staar Movies and it has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
