Director Shakti Soundar Rajan's Teddy, which stars Arya and Sayyeshaa in the lead roles, is set for a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar on March 12. Although the film was supposed to have a theatrical release, the pandemic and subsequent lockdown has pushed the makers to change their plans.

Announcing this on social media, Arya said, "Join me, Sayyeshaa and our ’lively' third-wheel Teddy, in our journey to find the truth behind a medical mystery. Teddy from 12th March on Disney+ Hotstar."

The trailer of the film was released earlier today.

Teddy, which also stars Karunakaran, Magizh Thirumeni and Sakshi Agarwal, has been shot extensively in Azerbaijan. D Imman, who composed the music for Shakti’s last film Tik Tik Tik, has teamed up with the director for Teddy as well.

Meanwhile, it is speculated that Arya, who has films like Enemy and Sarpatta Parambarai in the pipeline, will reunite with Shakti Soundar Rajan for another film.
