Director Jeethu Joseph has announced that he will be helming Venkatesh in Drushyam 2, the Telugu remake of his recent Mohanlal-starrer Drishyam 2. The director took to his official Facebook page to share the update and he also mentioned that the film will go on floors in March.

A picture the director shared of himself, Venkatesh, and Rajkumar Sethupathi, along with the news, has confirmed that the film will be bankrolled by Rajkumar, the producer of Drushyam. It may be recalled that the first part was directed by Sripriya and not Jeethu. Drushyam 2 also marks the Telugu debut of Jeethu.

Drushyam 2 will reunite Venkatesh with Meena. The film marks the sixth collaboration of the duo, six years after their most recent team-up. Interestingly, the sequel will also have Nadhiya and Naresh Vijaya Krishna reprising their roles from the previous film.

Bankrolled by Suresh Babu Daggubati in association with Antony Perumbavoor, Rajkumar Sethupathi, and Sri Priya, Drushyam 2 will be launched on March 1. The principal shooting will commence on March 5 and the makers are planning to complete the film in 50 days.

Unlike the Malayalam version, Drushyam 2 will have a theatrical release in the second half of 2021.
