Stay against Vishal's Chakra vacated; film to be released tomorrow as initially planned

CE Features

We had previously reported that Vishal's upcoming Tamil film, Chakra, which was scheduled for release on February 19, had an interim stay issued against it. It's now known that the stay has been vacated and the film will be released tomorrow as initially planned.

The Madras High Court had ordered the interim stay on the film's release due to a copyright violations claim. This move came after producer Ravi of Tritan Artists moved the High Court claiming that he owns the copyrights for the film. He also stated that Chakra's director, MS Anandan, had signed a contract with him, but has now completed the film under the lead actor Vishal's home banner, Vishal Film Factory. The court ordered an interim stay and had asked for a response from Vishal and the director's side. Now, the issue seems to be resolved and Vishal has given a statement confirming the same.

The statement reads, "Yes, as always have faced hurdles, issues and have always been true to myself, to my profession and to anything related to the film industry, The stay has been vacated and Chakra will be released worldwide tomorrow. February 19 will be a grand day for Chakra movie in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Thanks to the Hon High Court for serving the order at the right time, keeping the interest of not just the producer but everyone involved in the film and vacating the stay. We are going to release the movie as per schedule, Truth always triumphs."

The film also stars Shraddha Srinath, Regina Cassandra, and Robo Shankar. The online ticket booking for Chakra is now open.
