Director Krishna Vamsi is getting ready to direct a woman-centric film and is planning to rope in Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.

"Krishna Vamsi has finalised a script during the lockdown and will now start the casting process. It's a strong female-oriented story and he wants an established young actor to headline this project. After watching Janhvi's performance in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, he has decided to cast her for the part," reveals a source.

The director has initiated deliberations through Janhvi's father Boney Kapoor and is awaiting their response. "Krishna Vamsi and Boney Kapoor get along well ever since they collaborated on Shakti: The Power. The director believes that his script, as well as his association with Boney, will do the trick," the source adds.

If everything goes as planned, this yet-to-be-titled film will mark the debut of Janhvi Kapoor in Telugu cinema.

Krishna Vamsi, who last helmed 2017's Nakshatram, is now directing Ranga Marthanda, a remake of the Marathi blockbuster Natsamrat. Janhvi, meanwhile, is working on Roohi, Dostana 2 and Good Luck Jerry
