Aan Devathai director Thamira dies of COVID-19 complications

The filmmaker was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Chennai, where breathed his last

Director Thamira, who is known for his films Rettai Suzhi and Aan Devathai, passed away due to COVID-19 complications in a private hospital in Chennai on Monday morning. According to reports, the filmmaker was diagnosed with COVID-19 a few days ago and was undergoing treatment but failed to respond to it. 

This has come as shock to the Tamil cinema industry, and condolences are pouring in on social media. 

Music composer Ghibran, who had worked with Thamira in Aan Devathai, took to Twitter to express his shock and condolences. He wrote, "We have lost another true gem. Thamira Sir remained true to his craft and never chased fame or money. Working with him was a great gift. May his soul RIP. Heartfelt condolences to sir's family."

Producer Dhananjayan also expressed his condolences on Twitter.
