The Upendra-K Madesh project Lagaam’s muhurath will be held on Monday, and the makers plan to commence shooting from April 26. The Real Star, who is currently shooting for Kabzaa, has pushed the shooting of director Shashank’s next project, and will begin work for this film. “This is going to be a political satire, and revolves around money laundering,” says the director, who plans to dub and release the film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Lagaam stars Hariprriya as the female lead and features an ensemble cast including the likes of Sadhu Kokila, Rangayana Raghu and Shobraj. “We are in the process of approaching noted Tollywood actors, Prabhu, and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar to play pivotal roles in our film,” Madesh tells us.

Bankrolled by MR Gowda, the entire shooting of Lagaam will happen in Mysuru. Lagaam has dialogues penned by MS Ramesh, cinematography by Rajesh Kata and music by Sadhu Kokila.

Meanwhile, Upendra has a string of films like Home Minister, Trishulam and Buddhivantha 2 in various stages of production.

Hariprriya, who has worked with Baragaru Ramachandrappa for Amruthamathi will collaborate with the director once again in Thaayi Kasthoor Gandhi, a biopic on Kasturba Gandhi. She will also be associating with Upendra for Shashank’s yet-to-be-titled film.
