The first look of the upcoming Samuthirakani-starrer Writer was released today on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. Sharing the series of posters on Twitter, the film's co-producer Pa Ranjith wrote, “This writer will rewrite the lives of innocent people who fell prey to the endless quest for authority among humans.”

Samuthirakani’s look from the film bears a resemblance to BR Ambedkar. Directed by debutant Franklin Jacob, the film also stars Hari Krishnan, best known for his roles in Madras and Kabali.

Writer is jointly produced by Neelam Productions, Golden Ratio Films, Little Red Car Films, and Jetty Productions. 

Meanwhile, Ranjith is currently working on Sarpatta Parambarai the period sports drama he is directing, starring Arya, Pasupathy, Dushara Vijayan, Kalaiyarasan, and Anupama Kumar.
