Samuel L Jackson and John Reynolds return as retired hitman Darius Kincaid and high-profile bodyguard Michael Bryce in the sequel of the 2017 action thriller, The Hitman's Bodyguard. Titled Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, the sequel also brings back Salma Hyak as Darius's wife Sonia, and she is the focal point of the upcoming film. 

Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, like many other films, has been delayed due to the pandemic. It was earlier scheduled for release in August 2020. 

The trailer reveals that Michael Bryce is trying to take a break from his stressful bodyguard profession based on his therapist's advice. However, Sonia has different plans for him and realises he can't take a break from his bloody lifestyle. 

The film also stars Antonio Banderas as the antagonist, while Richard E Grant, Morgan Freeman, and Frank Grillo play prominent roles in the action thriller.
