Trisha's Paramapadham Vilayattu opts for streaming release

Billed as a thriller, the film joins the league of Tamil films that skipped theatre release during the pandemic.

After Teddy, Paramapadham Vilayattu​​ is the latest Tamil film to opt for a straight-to-streaming release through Disney Plus Hotstar. The Trisha-starrer is set to premiere on the OTT platform on April 14, coinciding with Tamil New Year.

Billed as a thriller, the film joins the league of Tamil films such as Soorarai Pottru, Penguin, Ponmagal Vandhal, Mookuthi Amman, and Bhoomi, which skipped theatre release during this pandemic.

Paramapadham Vilayattu​​, which is directed by debutant K Thirugnanam, also stars Nandha, Richard, AL Azhagappan, and Vela Ramamoorthy, among others.

Meanwhile, Trisha will be seen in multiple films across Tamil and Malayalam, including Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan and Jeethu Joseph's Ram alongside Mohanlal.
