Director Dinesh Baboo’s 50th film, Kasturi Mahal, has been in the news ever since its launch. The project, which was originally titled Kasturi Nivasa, was rechristened Kasturi Mahal. This was then followed by Rachita Ram’s exit from the project, due to date issues

The director, who was on the lookout for a new heroine, has now brought Shanvi Srivastava on board. The actor, who was last seen in the Rakshit Shetty-starrer Avane Srimannarayana, recently shot for Om Prakash Rao’s Trishulam, in which she is cast opposite Upendra.

Shanvi says it is the script that attracted her to Kasturi Mahal. “Apart from the story, I am also glad to work with an experienced director like Dinesh Baboo.”

Kasturi Mahal is paranormal thriller based on a true incident that happened in the director's life. The film also stars Shruti Prakash, Skanda, and senior actor Rangayana Raghu in prominent roles. The shooting is set to begin on October 5, in Kottigehara in Chickamagaluru, and the team plans to complete the shoot in a single schedule.

Kasturi Mahal will have music composed by Gumineni Vijay and cinematography by PKH Dass.
