The Tamil remake of the 2020 Kannada film, Mayabazar 2016, has been titled Naanga Romba Busy. The comic caper, which went on floors this September, will be a direct-to-television release on Sun TV for Diwali. The film is bankrolled by filmmaker-actor Sundar C's Avni Cinemas banner.

Starring Prasanna, Shaam, Ashwin Kakumanu, Shruti Marathe, Yogi Babu, and VTV Ganesh, Naanga Romba Busy is helmed by Badri, who is known for directing films like Aiyntham Padai and Veerappu.

The original, starring Raj B Shetty, Vasishta Simha, Achyuth Kumar, and Prakash Raj, is about three people who get affected by 2016's demonetisation.

With music by Sathya and cinematography by Kicha, Naanga Romba Busy is the first Tamil film that went on floors post the Covid-lockdown to have a release announced.
