Sony Studios has announced that Don't Breathe 2 will be released on August 13, 2021. The sequel to the 2016 horror hit Don't Breathe, will be directed by debutant Rodo Sayagues, a longtime collaborator and co-writer of Fede Álvarez, the director of the first instalment, who is well-known for Evil Dead (2013).

Don't Breathe, starring Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Stephen Lang, made over $150 million at the box office, having been filmed under a budget of just $10 million.

Despite most productions being forced to shut down, the film's shoot carried on in Siberia. Stephen Lang confirmed on Twitter that he had wrapped his scenes for the sequel.

As per a report by Screenrant, only Lang is confirmed to return in Don't Breathe 2, reprising his role as the Blind Man. However, the plot details for the sequel have been kept under wraps.

In the original film, three friends, played by Levy, Minnette, and Zovatto, break into the home of a blind veteran (Lang) to steal money. The trio is in for a rude awakening, though, when they realise that just because the man can't see, it doesn't mean he doesn't know how to fight back.
