George Clooney, Bob Dylan, and Grant Heslov are teaming up for the film adaptation of John Grishan's novel Calico Joe. Clooney will be producing the film and the other two will co-produce the feature film.

Calico Joe is the first baseball-themed novel from Grisham. It came out in 2012. The novel is based on real baseball teams which feature fictitious players created by the writer.

The story follows a bunch of players and their families after a pitch in a match turns fatal for the batter. The novel is described as a "moving story about fathers and sons, forgiveness and redemption, set in the world of Major League Baseball."

Dylan, in a statement, is quoted as saying, "George and Grant see in this book what I see in it; a powerful story that will resonate with young and old alike. People in all walks of life will be able to relate to it."
