Exactly 24 years after its release, veteran director K Raghavendra Rao has announced a sequel to his 1996 blockbuster Pelli Sandadi that starred Srikanth, Ravali and Deepthi Bhatnagar. Besides bankrolling the film, Raghavendra Rao is going to supervise the direction of the sequel that marks the directorial debut of Gowri.

According to a well-placed source, Srikanth's eldest son Roshan plays the male lead in the film. The makers are currently on a lookout for the female lead.

The script for the Pelli Sandadi sequel has been locked and the film will go on floors soon. MM Keeravani, who scored music for the original, has been roped in to compose music for the sequel and he has already begun recording songs for the film.

Shiva Shakti Datta and Sreedhar Seepana are penning the story and dialogues for the film.

Pelli Sandadi 2 is being produced under Arka Media Works in association with RK Film Associates.
