After a seven month hiatus, the shooting of director SS Rajamouli's much-awaited period action drama RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) has resumed today in a specially-constructed set in Aluminum Factory, Hyderabad. While there is no official confirmation from the production unit, we have learnt that Jr NTR, who plays Komaram Bheem in the film, has joined the sets.

"Rajamouli has started filming the portions for the first look teaser of Komaram Bheem with NTR. This 10-day schedule will be followed by a 45-day schedule after Dussehra. Charan, who is set to commence shooting for Acharya in November, will join the sets later," informs a source.

The production team has been housed in a hotel belonging to Rajamouli's son SS Karthikeya in Madhapur. They are not allowed to meet outsiders until the completion of this schedule. "The unit members completed Covid-19 tests and no one has tested positive. They were all briefed about the Standard Operating Producers (SOPs) to be adhered to on the set. A medical team and an ambulance are present on the set," the source adds.

Set in the pre-independence era of the 1920s, RRR is a fictitious tale based on two iconic freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju. While NTR will be seen as Bheem, Charan essays the role of Ramaraju.

The film also features Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson in important roles.

Produced by DVV Danayya, RRR is expected to be released in January 2022.
