After rife speculation that Suriya’s Vaadivasal might be dropped, Producer Thanu took to Twitter to rubbish the rumours. He further reiterated that the project will happen as announced, but did not reveal more details. 

Vaadivaasal will be helmed by Vetri Maaran, based on the writer Chellappa’s novel of the same name. This project will mark the first collaboration between Suriya and Vetri Maaran. The project is being bankrolled under Thanu’s V Creations banner. 

Suriya was recently seen in Sudha Kongara’s Soorarai Pottru, which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. He recently completed shooting for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s portions in the Netflix anthology Navarasa. 

Apart from these, Suriya also has a film with Pandiraj, which will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures. 

Vetri Maaran, on the other hand, is expected to begin work on his film with Soori next month.
