Mark Ruffalo and Catherine Keener have joined Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project, the sci-fi adventure film from Skydance and Netflix.

Newcomer Walker Scobell and Alex Mallari Jr have also boarded the film that already has Zoe Saldana and Jennifer Garner in the cast.

Reynolds stars as a man who travels back in time to get help from his 13-year-old self. Together, they have to find their late father, who is now the same age as Reynolds, and set things right in order to save the future.

Ruffalo is playing Reynolds’ dad, a brilliant physicist. Keener will play the movie’s villain, a woman who has stolen powerful technology from the physicist.

Shawn Levy, who first teamed with Reynolds for the much-anticipated Free Guy, will be directing The Adam Project. Levy's 21 Laps, Reynolds' Maximum Effort and David Ellison's Skydance, which developed the project in-house, are producing the movie that is now in production in Vancouver.
