Director Neil Marshall, known for making the fantasy action thriller Hellboy reboot and his recent horror adventure The Reckoning, will be penning the script and directing an upcoming action thriller, The Lair.

Marshall will also back the film through his banner Scarlett Productions, which he founded along with The Reckoning actor and co-writer Charlotte Kirke.

The Lair follows Royal Air Force pilot Lt Kate Sinclair on her final flight mission when her jet crash lands in one of the most dangerous rebellious regions of Afghanistan. She finds shelter in an abandoned underground bunker where deadly man-made biological weapons — half-human, half-alien, and hungry for human flesh — are awakened. 

The casting of the film is underway and the makers are planning to start shooting for the film early next year.
